ESOL
In the 2003-2004 school year,  the ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) program added an  ESOL teacher, Mrs. Heather Williamson, to Bobby Ray Elementary. Along with Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Martha Marlin assists as a bilingual assistant.  Now, there are four ESOL teachers county-wide.  Warren County High School (Mrs. Marilyn McGee), Warren County Middle School (Mrs. Sharon Hargrove), Hickory Creek Elementary (Mrs. Carol Prater), and Bobby Ray Elementary (Mrs. Heather Williamson).  We also have three bilingual assistants:  Mrs. Rafaela Rodriguez, Mrs. Isabel Garibaldi, and Mrs. Martha Marlin.
ESOL is a special pull-our program that teaches students whose native language is not English.  They are taught American culture and language.  To receive ESOL services, students must qualify based upon the results of the Home Language Survey that everyone completes during registration, then they take a test that determines whether or not these services are needed.  Students qualifying will be pulled-out of their regular classroom for at least 30-40 minutes a day.  At Bobby Ray, there are currently 47 students that qualify for ESOL services.  These students are a wonderful asset to an already special school.
