Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School
Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School is a K-5 facility located in McMinnville, Tennessee, the hometown of David Robert "Bobby" Ray. The school was named in Bobby Ray's honor as a tribute to all veterans. It opened its doors in 1995 and remains today a school with a strong patriotic focus.
USS David R. Ray
The USS DAVID R. RAY (DD-971) was the ninth SPRUANCE-class destroyer and the fifth ship of that class to join the Pacific Fleet. Commissioned on November 19, 1977, she served until being decommissioned on February 28, 2002. USS DAVID R. RAY is now berthed at the Naval Inactive Ships Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington.
The coat of arms of USS DAVID R. RAY serves as a heraldic reminder of the ship's namesake. The ship's motto, "Determined, Ready, Resourceful" alludes to the initials of Petty Officer Ray and epitomizes his legacy to the ship that bears his name.
